Meet Aoife pronounced Eve (previously holly)

Aoife (Holly), yet another stray, and pregnant, came into Limerick Animal Welfare and had 2 puppies at Christmas. She was a good Mum even if she was a little excitable at times. She was always eager for us to see her babies, Ivy & Berry (pictured right). Poor Holly was only a baby herself and had so much energy that she found it hard going to stay and mind her pups. The pups grew and grew, every day as we cleaned and washed out the kennels we would hear Holly changing her mind as to where the bed should go. We would hear her pulling her bed all around the big kennel until she was happy with its position. This went on a few times every day and it did amuse us.

Once the pups were weened it was Holly's time for play and walks. She was so strong on the lead and she really enjoyed playing with the other dogs.

Sadly one of her pups got sick and could not be saved, vet thought it maybe something genetic. She passed away despite all efforts to save her and we were all so upset.

Poor Holly, after all, being dumped and then getting pregnant, loved and cared for her pups and only one to survive. The second pup was rehomed and has since come to visit us and is a healthy happy girl who is growing fast.

We are so happy Holly went to Glenys and has now got the most wonderful home where she will be loved for the rest of her days.

Such a lovely story which has a very happy ending. Aoife (Holly) was fallen in love with by Jan, who adopted Paddy (also featured in our happy endings section) and has gone to live with them and her new big brother Paddy. A new lovely home, playmate and wonderful future to look forward to.,
