A Thank You From Zak & Us

Hi Everyone,
We just want to say a big thank you for all your kind messages at this difficult time and for keeping our beloved boy in your thoughts and prayers, it means a lot to us all. We also want to say thank you to our special friends Michelle and Mark for their support.
We have to say it was a huge shock as Zak didn't have any physical signs on the outside that he was suffering from lymphoma and had he not been referred with his eye to Liverpool our boy would only have had weeks left to live as it was at stage 5. Also the specialist gave us 2 options with his eye either leave it and go back in 3 months as apparently Horners Sydrome can right itself in 3 to 6 months or to CT scan that day, we feel so lucky that we made that choice to CT scan him and by pure luck as the specialist said they found abnormalities in his spleen and liver.
In a way we feel someone was looking out for Zak as although not curable and even though it is stage 5 luckily it was treatable still with chemo and hopefully will give us extra time with of our beloved boy, they estimate 8 to 10 months but could be less. What we have said is that if at anytime the chemo affects Zak quality of life in way we will stop it and let him go peacefully when the time is right.
We are on weekly visits to Liverpool now and providing Zak has enough good white blood cells he can have his chemo, after 8 weeks we will have to take him every 2 weeks but a short price to pay if Zak still has the quality of life he's used to. We are amazed as you wouldn't think there was anything wrong and he's not had any side effects which is good but they do say it's different in digs then humans as the dosage is much lower.
As you can imagine we are devasted and as hard as it is we we are trying to enjoy every precious day we have left with our beloved Zak and know like with Milo he will leave us with a shattered heart when the time comes.
Thank you all again and please can we ask you continue to keep our beloved boy in your thoughts and prayers.
Love Amanda, Jim Zak and Little Max xxxxx
