Lola latest

Post by Morticia1162 »

Well we are back and on the whole feeling better, consultant was more than happy to manage her conservatively with meds and given us an exercise plan for next 6 weeks, by then he will reassess her exercise then if all goes well off lead she can carry on as normal.

She will need both hips replacing eventually but that could be in a few months or years, so although that is not ideal he doesn't feel she needs surgery as first option considering this is her first flare up.

Thank you all for kind words, big big hugs for Amanda and Jim, they were there with their two boys and extremely worried.

Really pleased that it worked out ok today. Far better than you could expect and with medication and rest she should be good to go in no time.

Pleased that you are feeling better after your visit to the specialist. If its any consolation, when we had our Max we were told that his hips were dreadful and that in time hip replacement would almost certainly be needed but actually he did well with supplements, care with exercise (regular walks, no rough paths or ploughed fields, no jumping ditches etc, no chasing balls and skidding to a halt) and anti-inflammatory meds as he got older. Fingers crossed Lola does as well as he did.......sending positive healing thoughts :love2:

So pleased for Mum, Dad and Lola that there is more positive news than feared and I hope that Lola's future care etc means it will nbe a long time before any ops are needed if ever.

I'm pleased some of the worry has gone and wish Lola and her family all the best going forward. xxx :love2: :love3:

Really pleased to hear Lola doesn't need any ops and that she should be able to manage on medication. I'm sure with those and perhaps reduced exercise she will do well. Do you use a ramp for getting her in and out of the car, the specialist orthopaedic vet recommended that for George? Big hugs for Lola from me :bighug:
