Gabapentin

Post by Aileen »

Hi folks, after Annie's visit to the vet today he has prescribed 2 Gabapentin a day and 1 previcox a day to help her arthritis. Just wondered if any else has tried Gabapentin and what results you had.
Love,
Aileen xx

Hi Aileen
Remember Drake who came to rescue with the really bad shoulder, had an op to remove bone etc? hes on Gaberpentin and Previcox, it was the best combination for ongoing pain relief, still on it, needs adjusting sometime but hes still doing well after 2 years!!!
Gaberpentin also a drug used for humans I belive?

I've never heard of it, Aileen, but just wanted to send Annie buckets of positive and healing thoughts that she does well on her medication and that it keeps her arthritis under control. Gina's post gives a very positive outcome for Drake on the same meds so everything crossed for Annie too.

Hi Aileen,
Wishing Annie all the best with her combination treatment. :love3:

The drug is used for Epilepsy and Neuropathic pain in humans. Can be given for nerve pain if you have had Shingles.

We use it a lot on Spinal Injuries unit.
