Dog treats etc

Post by Glenys »

OK me on my soap box and I am sure I am preaching to the converted:

Please Consider not feeding cheap shop treats to your dogs from abroad ( some have found to contain formaldehyde and bleached ) or anything with additives, derivatives ( beaks feet etc ) colouring even sugar
Its simple enough look the bag read the ingredients you don’t even need to pay a fortune for decent food
I believe the sheer amount of skin problems in dogs is food or environment related so be wary also
If farmers have been spraying local fields etc try not to use shake and vac on floors your dog lies on same with washing powder you wash their bedding in.

We have dogs brought here with poor skin some have cost our rescue fortunes to get right
In the new year i will post a list of dogs helped .
Remember Dogs have died through ingesting cheap treats from abroad so its a reminder not a lecture and open to debate.
Another tip by all means feed high protein but only if a dog is living a very active life we have found some hyper dogs in rescue had been fed over 29% protein food whilst sometimes crated we need to adapt food to-their activity
