Bess (Little Lady)

Hi All,

Some of you may remember Bess from 4 years ago. She is a golden girl who spent her first 6 years on a Puppy Farm having many litters. She was so sad when we got her so we have tried to give her the best possible life. The vet guesses she is about 11 years old and shows signs of ageing. In the last couple of months she has become restless in the night. She sleeps in the kitchen and has never had any problems but has now started panting and wandering around starting as soon as we go to bed.

Have any of you experienced this and have any suggestions that would help her.

Hello All
Over the years we have had lots of dogs and I have noticed that some pant more than others as they age, we have 4 older girls. 13 12 11 10 Bonnie is 12 and she pants the most especially at some parts of the night. As we sleep in the downstairs bedroom our dogs are always close maybe you could try bringing Bess closer to you it may be a separation thing now, place her bed outside of your bedroom or in the room and see if this helps her settle. Good luck and a :bighug: for Bess.

Sometimes they do get restless Betty does and pants its an aging thing maybe ask your Vet if she needs any supplements or a check over.

Could be pain or/and laryngeal paralysis, might be worth checking out but if she is fine during the day then I suspect it is anxiety based.....sadly a common thing as they age. Sending lots of healing hugs for Bess.
