Barney - our new boy!

Post by JennyC »

Hello everyone! If you know us it will be because of our wonderful Alfie and Bailey - they both died over the winter, an awful time of loss for us, and for 3 months we weren't ready to consider a new companion, the others had been so special, but we did so miss having a Labrador in our lives.

So late in April we contacted Glenys and on 20th May went to MKF to meet two black boys, one who had only come in the day before, and it was him, (then called Bruno, now Barney) who seemed to like us and we him, so home he came with us to the Lake District, having lived in the middle of Manchester! He had been well cared for and was already well behaved, though he did think that every bed and chair was his to sit in! completely ignoring the dog bed! After 4 weeks he is settling in well, getting used to us and our ways and routines and enjoying walks around Braithwaite where we live.

So thank you again to Glenys (and the team) for being there for these dogs who need new homes and for us who need new dogs.

Sorry I can't put a photo up yet as I need to learn how again! The one below is of our beloved Alfie and Bailey. Barney is alrready allowed on that seat!!

Love to all,
Jenny, Robert and Barney xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So pleased that Barney and yourselves have found each other and he sounds to be settling/has settled well. I saw your lovely photo, looks a super place for a walk. I am sure you'll have lots of fun together.
