Buggy/strollers for Labradors

Post by BonnieBoo »

I’m looking for advice on what kind of buggy/stroller to buy for Bonnie, my 11year old Lab. Along with the Cushing’s Disease, she’s got arthritis as well and has started to struggle getting in and out of the car and doesn’t want to walk for too long, but still wants to go out for a walk 3 times a day.

I’ve checked out Amazon and prices range from £130 to £260. We’ve tried using a ramp to help her into the car, but she wasn’t keen.

Any advice would be great.

Sorry to hear about Bonnie. I did a lot of research on strollers for dogs late last year for my bridge girl who I lost in January. I decided against one for her in the end as she had bone cancer in her hind leg and by the time I decided on a stroller things were too far gone. The one I had my eye on and the only one at the time I would have purchased is the Doggyride Novel. I asked a lot of people who used them for older large dogs like labs and they all said how good they were. There is a helpful review here if that is worth a read:

They are expensive though compared to others and maybe you get what you pay for.

For general advice and help with arthritis the Canine Arthritis Management site is excellent lots of tips and their forum has specialists who give advice.
