Check list

Post by jackiem »

Just under three weeks ago I posted on facebook the day after one of the saddest days of my life when we said goodbye to our beautiful Bob.

The post was about things that I was missing in my life:

A waggy tail on my return from work

sorted!

A pink nose waiting for a carrot whenever I go to the fridge

Sam's not sure what to do with carrots - he just carries them around!

Not being accompanied to the loo

sorted

Stroking silky ears

Sam stayed still long enough for me to do this last night

Gentle snoring whilst we watch tv

no snoring yet but that's okay

Not having to push food to the back of the worktop

Sam is far too well behaved for me to have to worry about this

Dog hair

in abundance despite being combed daily!

Being followed - everywhere

Sorted

Noxious smells

Not so far

Walkies

Sorted thank goodness!

Every mouthful I eat being watched carefully and drooled over

This doesn't happen. Sam does expect a little to be left for him and put in his bowl though

Not having to check behind me to make sure I don't trip over my stealthy shadow

Sam is too noisy and bouncy to be a stealthy shadow but he is very careful not to trip us up

Being reminded when it's time to feed him

He's good at this

More dog hair

Yep.

I could only think of one remedy which you can all guess and Sam has succeeded in all the good points bless him. He's filled our lives with smiles again and though Bob will be in our hearts forever, Sam is the here and now and is a joy to be with. I can't wait to get home from work and find out what Malc, Sam (and my daughter) have been up to!

Well and truly sorted if you ask me. Bobbles would approve too by just knowing that you have a smile on your face again X

Well Jackie, Sam sounds an ideal companion already I think he knows he's landed at the right place for a wonderful life. Is there anything more relaxing than stroking a labrador's ears :love5: :love5: :love5:

Jackie you certainly sound as if you are really enjoying having Sam, I think he is going to be another character,
Even though I do not know you , you sound so happy.
It is over 3 years since we lost Harriet, and quite often I call Molly our other choc Harrie that was what we used to call her,
Big hug for Sam from us.
