Rob's Poem

Post by Glenys »

ROB

I Think its time for Rob to come back Home the angel said
She quietly sat beside him and stroked his golden head
He looked into her eyes of blue and said i'd like to go
But i will be sad to leave all my friends below

She stood and slipped a silver lead around the old labs neck
We wont be long, its not so far although it may seem like a trek
So they walked through the fields of buttercups and meadows that shone with dew
his old bones were getting stronger he was nearly home he knew

They walked along a lavender path towards a wooden gate
his old friends were on the other side he could see they couldnt wait
One by one they came to greet him to welcome him back home
the fields and woods of Gods estate together they would roam

So an old dog left his earthly home to go back to his home above
But he left so many memories he left such a lot of love
and now a bouncy Labrador so young and full of zest
plays happily in the meadows here there is no time to rest

But Rob still keeps a watchful eye On those he left behind
The friends who loved and cared for him the friends who were so kind
He knows he will meet them all again In Gods garden up on High
But for now he is very happy In his home beyond the sky.
