Peace

This is a poem that I found when I was looking for something for my father's funeral service. He loved telling people about when he had been walking our Labrador Sam and the lead got tangled in some bushes, when he got him out his name disc had come off. Some weeks later they were out walking and Sam was very interested in something and he 'found' his own disc, he told everyone that he was the most intelligent dog ever! I lost them both in 2008, but I am sure they are both together at Peace.

PEACE
Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet.
Let it not be a death but completeness.
Let love melt into memory and pain into songs.
Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings over the nest.
Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night.
Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your last words in silence.
I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way.

~Rabindranath Tagore

Oh that is such a very beautiful and comforting poem! Sounds like your father and Sam had a special bond, Norma. Forever in your heart and together always.
