They had this Poem at My Friend Sue's funeral the other week.
I have to say it was very sad to lose a friend and a shock but her funeral it was really a celebration of her life it was actually a nice send off, if you can say you enjoyed a funeral then this was it.
I heard things I didnt know about her and she was a very learned lady and very respected in her proffession but to me we met through dogs and thats what we were friends for she fully supported our rescue and was in on the search for a place to put kennels up together with my friend Jean a mutual friend.
Anyway I thought I would share this poem that was read out I think its lovely and says it all.
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun it has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free !
Miss me a little – but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love we once shared
Miss me – but let me go
For this journey we all must take
And each must go alone
Its all part of the Masters plan
A step on the road to home
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me - but let me go.

Re: Poem
Lovely poem. I am sorry for the loss of your friend Glenys.
I really do think life should be celebrated. I want some laughter at my funeral as I feel blessed to have had a good life and I would like it celebrated. Yes, we all do have problems but, there is always somebody worse off than me, although it may not seem like that sometimes. I am one of those whose glass is half full!
