Just for a bit of fun and following Lola's birthday, I thought it would be fun to discover whether your own dogs names got you thinking of songs/tunes.

I will start with both of mine who we were very lucky to adopt from MKF.

Good Golly Miss Molly _ Molly

Theme tune from Scooby Doo _ Scooby.

Over to you good people :2379:

Nah sorry, mine were both a nod to my mis-spent youth; Harley Davidson motorbikes and Diesel Jeans (should have been Levi really).........not that the kids realise that, they wouldn't think I was ever a young rebel

Ha ha, good job I didn't name my two in a mis spent theme, I'd have ended up with Vicious and Rotten.

Hi, can't think of a tune but Oscar certainly made me think of Oscar Wilde as a puppy! Not anymore though, at 5 he is superstar and a gentle soul.

Well as a returnee from face book we named our two Womble and Smudge. Smudge because of the white mark on her chest but Womble just seemed the right name as she was a little wombler when she came to us aged two, she hadn't had the best of starts so we thought it would be best to have a new name. Anyway she has certainly grown into her name as she carries a ball around with her at every opportunity so she lives up to her name ans she really is "one ball" :1966:

I can't say that Jess or Tilly were named with a song in mind, but when Jess arrived at Rescue, her name wasn't known, so she was called Jet, by Karen and Neil, who fostered her. When she came to us, we wanted to give her a girly name, and so named her Jess, as it sounded similar to Jet.

Tilly came with her name, and she suits it! We always call her the Glad All Over dog though, because she is so happy.

Previous pets were named......

Gemma - because she was a little gem!
Bonnie, because he was bonny to look at!

Good thread Lins!!

No songs in mind when I named my two but Maggie could take her pick of songs but suppose the most famous one is Maggie Mae by Rod Stewart. As for Bella can only think of one by Dean Martin Bella Bella Bambina!

Bob came with his name so no tune in mind but as I have long been a Cure fan perhaps he was named after a singer, not a song.
However, there was a Hurricane Bob in 1991 which aptly describes what we thought we had brought into our house on the day we adopted him!
