Hello All

Postby Michelle734 » 15 May 2018, 19:08

My name is Michelle
Adoption form filled in, just waiting. Been stalking the website for awhile.
You should be so proud of the big rescue,
I bit about me and us as a family, Mum and Dad, as well a wonderful 14 year old daughter. We live in a little village in the Ribble Valley. I have had Labradors all through my childhood and early adult life, been dog free for sadly the last 20 years as both my husband and I worked fulltime, now working better hours so at home more also feel that my daughter should have the joy of the madness of living with a Labrador and fly ball.
Having seen some of the wonderful matches on here, can't wait.

Hello Michelle, Dad and Daughter - welcome to this very informative and friendly forum I bet you are all so excited and can't wait to find your new lab friend. Have you had your home check yet? Once you get approved you can keep a keen eye on the dogs that come in and ring Glenys or the home coordinators once you see one you like. Glenys and her team are excellent at matching dogs to families, you may have to be patient until the right dog comes along, but I've been on this site for over 10 yrs and was a stalker for 2 yrs before that and there are always wonderful dogs coming in to Rescue.

I adopted a 10 month old black lab 9 years ago known as Gorgeous George and he was a fabulous ambassador for the labrador breed. Unfortunately he died aged only 8 yrs from an aggressive cancer 18 months ago. I've had labs from puppies for 35 years and my rescue lab turned out to be the best of the lot.

Good luck with your application and search. Please let us know how things go.
Joan and George x

Hi Joan
I'm still waiting for the home check, but understand that it's not a lot of people and have no problem waiting. I've also joined the facebook page. So sorry you lost George to soon, funny rescue dogs are always the best, they know that you want them I think. I could have gone and got a puppy but love the rescue.
