Hi everyone, I am an old friend/work colleague of Abi Edwards and she has kindly introduced me to this site. We (John and Denise) are starting our journey into becoming dog owners again after 4 years following the loss of our very well loved choccie lab, Barney. Our search starts in earnest following a holiday that takes us up to the end of August. So excited!!

Hello John and Denise and welcome to this very interesting and friendly site. Most people on here understand how difficult it is when you lose a beloved friend, I lost my "dog of a lifetime" in November and the house is so empty without a dog.

How exciting that your search for a new friend will begin soon and hope you will keep us posted on the outcome.

Welcome, Denise & John. I also found this site after loosing two best buddies six years ago now. I look forward to hearing about your new friend when he or she finds you.

Hi and Welcome Denise & John,
I'm sure that Barney left you with some very special memories of his antics and your adventures together. Great that you now feel ready to offer a home to another labrador and looking forward to hearing about your new friend in due course,
Des x

Well what a week. We came to Chorley to bring Ozzie home with us and we have fallen head over heels with him. I am not sure he will feel the same after Thursday? Its a visit to the vet where Ozzie comes home with less than he went in with lol.

If I knew how to post a photo, I would show you all how happy he appears to be and so very settled

Thank you Glenys and the team, you have made us very happy xx :love6:

So pleased to hear your search has ended and that Ozzie has adopted you. He sounds like he already has his four paws firmly under the table (or even on top of it just reread Glenys' description of his bouncy nature  ). I'm sure Ozzie is going to bring you much laughter and fun and I sincerely hope you have a very long and happy life together.

I can't post photos either but Glenys has said if people email them to her she will put them on the site for you.

We are delighted that Ozzie has found his forever home, lots of luck and happy days together.
We will think of him tomorrow!!
I cannot post pics either, I did have a look to see him on the site, but there were reasons that he was not there, so maybe soon we will see him

Hello All,

We are Sylvia and Miles, and new here. After a number of years living partly or wholly overseas, we have settled in to retired life in Lytham St Annes, and looking to share our home here with a labrador. We miss not having a dog in the family, after having several in London when we were living and working there.

Whichever dog we end up with can look forward to many long walks across the sand dunes at St Annes, and parkland and green areas of Lytham :2362:

Best wishes,

Miles

Hello Sylvia and Miles and welcome to this very addictive and informative site :occasion7: we've had labs for 35 years and still learn a lot from the lovely people on here. I hope the right dog for you will soon come along and assume you have filled in the application form etc.

If I were you I would put your post on to the site again under its own title so that Forum members will notice it and welcome you to the site, as some people may think you were just replying to Denise and John's post.

It sounds as if any lab that adopts you will have a wonderful life  please let us know how you get on.
