The Story of Jake

Post by LabRes1 »

Jake came into the rescue following a bereavement and his owner was struggling to cope with Jake and deal with the grief and mourning at the same time. A very unfortunate situation for all concerned.

Jake is 9 years old still fit and active and loves absoloutley everyone , adores children as well and other dogs he is a darling boy.

Jake has quite a thick coat and whilst he looks fine, when you feel him he is very thin, weighing in at a mere 26kg - his hips protrude significantly and he basically needs time and care to build him slowly back to the condition he should be in.

It is important to stress here that this old boy has not knowingly been neglected and is simply the victim of unfortunate circumstances.

After much thought, it has been decided that Jake should go to stay with Martin (Billybluemoor), one of our very experienced foster carers (billy nursed Rosie back to health a while ago) until after new year to give Jake the time and care he needs in a home environment to recover.

Once he is fit and well, a suitable home will be found for Jake who will make someone a lovely companion.

Thank you once again Martin for helping another dog that needs your special touch..
