Are you fishing for Carp or Pike? I have done both in my time but, now stick to fly fishing for Trout.
All our dogs have loved fishing, we had one who would sit there and stare at the float for hours. As soon as it bobbed, he would be up and ready in a flash.

To be honest I'm a carp angler at heart, but I do enjoy all aspects of it.
I spend most of my time either next to water or in it due to me being a Fishery Manager for one complex and Fishery Officer for another.
Keeps me out of trouble
and Max loves walking round them all
