A year ago today this boy picked us for his forever home.
We battled through snow to get him - yes in March.
The journey home saw him escape from the boot to sit on the back seat on my knee with his nose pressed against the window.
Once home, he took over the kitchen, he seemed much bigger than when we first met.
The first day we seemed to go for endless walks - we only had time to make beans on toast for tea.
So what happened next...
He settled in, he interviewed and took on a dog walker (three lunchtimes), he made the family fitter (four walks a day), he took over two homes as he travelled to Anglesey every other week, he claimed the settees in both homes, he gave out lots of love and kisses (almost didn't care who-but mum is best), he made everyone who met him love him, he smiled every time the camera came out, he cuddled up and played whenever he was asked or he wanted to (so all the time then), he introduced the smell of Labrador to the home as well as the smell (and sound) of Labrador wind, he made shake a paw into high five, he introduced non slip rugs to wooden floors, he loved every toy he got, he helped to highlight what was important in life, quite simply he just became part of our family. Happy 1st gotcha Sam!
