3 Month Pupdate
Hi Everyone! I’m Teddy and this is my 3 month pupdate – it’s slightly delayed but time flies when you’re having fun!
I left Glenys for my new home back in April when I was an 8month old bundle of energy. My training and manners were pretty poor as I just kept getting overexcited and I seemed to only be used to walking on the pavement as I didn’t like the feeling of wet grass under my paws. Swimming was a no-no too. But from day 1 it was obvious that I had been incredibly well loved, I absolutely knew what cuddles and affection were and craved them at every available opportunity.
Mum and Dad started taking me to a puppy training class which I loved. I made some puppy friends there and I learnt loads. I graduated with distinction and also won the most improved dog - Mum and Dad were so proud!
It took me a few weeks, but I’ve fully adjusted to life in the countryside now. I go for lovely walks and Mum and Dad can (mostly!!) trust me without my lead on. They’ve worked out that salmon is my favourite, so long as they have some of that in their pocket then my recall is pretty good. I love to run around and sniff in the bushes, the only problem is that Mum always stops me to take photos – she’s obsessed and I find it so boring! I’ve also realised that water is super fun, I can’t walk past it without running in now! Dad says that the car always smells of wet dog these days, but to me that’s a good thing!
I’ve worked out that another great thing about walks in the countryside is that lots of them end in a place called The Pub. I love The Pub as there are always people there who like to make a fuss of you and they usually have a jar of treats too!
Mum and Dad have taken me on a couple of weekends away camping, I’ve been to Wales and Scotland now. I loved exploring on new walks and we found lots of new pubs too, but my favourite part was sneaking into bed with Mum and Dad when they were asleep – I’m not allowed to do that at home but they couldn’t stop me in the tent!
I’ve started going on a group walk with a dog walker for an hour a week which I absolutely love. They take me and my doggy friends on great adventures to really fun places and it’s somewhere different every time. It’s really helping me to learn some doggy socialisation skills and it lets me practice my recall with lots of distractions around - Mum and Dad have told them the salmon trick too which I think is very sneaky of them!
I’ve still got a few puppy behaviours that need some further training, but Mum and Dad know it won’t take me long to crack this as I’ve come so far in just 3 short months. In the first week Mum and Dad couldn’t imagine when I’d be able to walk nicely on my lead and not jump up when I met another dog, never mind be able to walk without a lead, yet here we are already.
Anyway, I’ve nattered on for long enough now and people probably stopped reading 3 paragraphs ago! I just wanted everyone to know that I’m so happy here and Mum and Dad are so in love with me. I’m coming to the Labrador party next month which I’m really looking forward to and I hope I can meet some friends there.

What a brilliant update Teddy You’ve landed yourself a fabulous home! Well done on the progress you’ve made. Made me laugh when you said about getting in between Mum and Dad when you went camping. You have to seize these chances when they present themselves, don’t you You sound adorable.
Looking forward to reading more about your adventures.

Really enjoyed reading your pupdate Teddy. Did you need some salmon when you were learning to type too?

Thank you everyone for your lovely kind messages
Teddy has very quickly become the centre of our world - which he's well aware of!
He's a big softie and we can't believe how much having him has enriched our lives.
We'll be off on more adventures soon so I'm sure I can convince him to write again before too long!
