Hello all

Sorry I haven’t been on for ages. Miss Poppy turned nine last week :2803: . Cannot believe it is nine years since the arrival of the Christmas pups! She is quite grey now but still very sparkly and zesty. She also thinks she is even cleverer than she thought possible and that her owners are quite dim, the way she looks at us sometimes :1968: Her eyes are so gorgeously expressive as is her face. She is very devoted to us and her brother but still a wilful little minx :1967:
She has had a couple of lumps removed this year, one on her head and one on her elbow, both thankfully were benign. She has a lipoma on her side but the vets are not concerned about that. Our best wishes as always to Carol who had the pups and I do hope Poppy’s beautiful mum Grayse is doing well. Would love to hear from any of Poppy’s siblings owners I know George’s sometimes posts on their birthday?

And our gorgeous big pudding boy is five this week. He is a big daft boy, the worst thief ever, but you could not meet a cuddlier or more affectionate lad. He is inseparable from poppy, she runs rings round him on the brains front. He’s had it tough in the past year with his osteoarthritis with failed stem cell treatment after which we were worried he wouldn’t be able to walk at all without the dreaded big arthedesis operation.. But steroids then have had a surprisingly great effect and he has only had one lot last April and his specialist is amazed at how long it has lasted. He can’t walk any further than a couple of miles but he loves his walks and is giddy and joyful on them. I know at some point he will have to have the big op but at the moment he doesn’t and as he is excitable and goony I worry until he calms down the delicate recovery could be an issue. The pic above in the garden of him makes me smile, it is one of his calm moments and I think he is doing Labrador mindfulness :love2:

This week is also four years since losing our beloved Barney, we miss him so much and will never forget him, our beautiful gentle lad x

Thanks again Glenys for our beloved dogs x

Pa if anyone has any experience of shoulder arthedesis or even shoulder replacement (unusual I know) in labs I would be so grateful to read it x

Hi Emma
Nice to hear from you again and hear how the dogs are doing. Sorry I can’t offer any advice re shoulders but am sure someone in this wonderful community may be able to help.

Am loving the idea of “Labrador mindfulness “

Great to see you on here Emma, I am not on FB so sadly have lost touch with so many people I used to chat with via the forum. So pleased you are all well and Poppy and Dexy look fantastic, sounds like Dexy hasn't changed much! I can't believe it is 4 years since lovely Barney, they are always in our thoughts. I lost Maggie a year ago almost (end of Jan 2018), still have tears most days as I miss her so much. I still have Bella her half sister she is 12 in a few weeks and doing well.

Hope to chat with you more.

Take care
