Re: Anna (Rhianna) off to her new life
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your kind messages, I love reading them! Well, it's all go here, I hardly get a chance to have a rest! I have been so busy it's unbelievable so I'll just let you know of some of the things I've done before I have to go off on my next duty patrol. Here goes . . .
1) In my role as Canine Controller, I confiscated a rather nice football from a group of lads on the country estate where I work and have been playing with it on the yard ever since
2) I went to a rather nice little shop that sells all sorts of dog things and Mum got me a new necklace that I can't duck out of as I had perfected this technique but Mum said it was inappropriate and not something that a little princess like myself should do, only thugs do it. So I have a smart leather one and I still wear my sheepskin fleece around it. (I also stuck my nose into some open bags of dog food just to do some quality control).
3) The behaviour scientists on the floor above Mum's office gave me another necklace - this time a MAGIC one!!! it has dog appeasing pheremone in it and they said it would help me settle down and feel secure.
4) I can jump into the back of the truck on my own and get in the Travel Capsule that my big black brother uses and we can snuggle up together while we are on the road (I use him as a pillow - Mum caught me at it)
5) Mum resurrected a Kong she had in the dog cupboard so have been playing with that - wow, it's ace the way it jumps around when Mum throws it, it's like chasing prey!
6) I do loads of play fighting with my black brother in the stable - you can throw straw around and bounce around and not bang or scrape yourself on the floor. Benjamin the horse just carries on eating his hay even when we get quite violent.
7) Brother Benjamin puts his head down to kiss my nose and I don't jump and bark at him now - I might even pluck up the courage to give him a licky kiss back soon!
Will update you soon but must go and perform another duty - bringing Benjamin in from his horse playpen thing - that's great as well as it is really big and has trees and rabbits and all sorts of wonderful smells in it.
Bye for now
Anna

Re: Anna (Rhianna) off to her new life
Great news so happy for a lovely girl and credit to everyone who has helped, especially auntie Karen.
When you read about Holmes, then the lovely ending for both these labs. you know there are some good people about.
Auntie Karen deserves a medal for all her great patience & work and her rewards are many not just getting Anna back to good health but being strong enough to give her up to someone else, we could not do it (failed fosterers!)
There is a heaven for doggies & good people everywhere.
(better late then never with our best wishes to Anna & all who have wished her well & helped her through this difficult time, soon forgotten by labs. who enjoy each new day.
Best wishes to all, Vee, Geoff & Becky

It's lovely to hear your updates Anna. I do hope that you can persuade your mum to take some pictures to show us your new home. It sounds as though you are having great fun!

Oh Anna,
tears of joy!!!!!!
What great news this is, I so very happy that you are happy.
Sounds like your having a great-time.
You are still making me laugh and smile with your antics, and your mum is right you are a "little princess".
Bailey and all your doggy friends Keaney, Skye, Gordon and Cody, Charlie and Billy all say hello.
But i think that Bailey does misses you, I know that I do xxxx
Ruth - a huge thank you from me, for giving her everything that she needs and more, no amount of words can express how truly grateful I am to you for giving her the love she deserves.
Anna,
I will always have you in my heart xxxxxxxx

Re: Anna (Rhianna) off to her new life
I love this last update on Anna's new life BUT Tasha is now hassling me to take her out where the horses go so she can help out with cleaning up the countryside too - she is VERY jealous that Anna has a horse in residence at her new place - she LOVES fresh horse poo
Karen's last post brought tears to my eyes though ....it must be so hard to take a dog into your home and life, to nurse them back to a healthy state, and then to let them go to a brand new forever home. I take my hat off to you Karen and all the other fosterers out there who do an invaluable job for the rescue and these special dogs too. Keep it up!

Re: Anna (Rhianna) off to her new life
Hi Everyone,
You'll never guess what! I (that's ME, little Anna) am about to become a FILM STAR!!! Possibly an INTERNATIONAL one!!!! How? Why? I hear you asking. Well, I was "spotted" by the Canine Behaviour talent scouts and asked to perform in front of the camera demonstrating all sorts of behaviours, especially social interaction things whilst settling in to my new pack. They are looking at social behaviours, learning social boundaries set by my new brothers (have learnt the most important one - don't go near the hairy brother if at all possible as he has a nasty smile which he produces for me), play behaviours - well I'm good at these - and also that weird gulping behaviour I sometimes do if I am stressed (Mum Karen probably noticed this when I was with her (and just to let you know, I miss you too)).
The researchers wanting this footage are international veterinary behaviour specialists, one of them is a Professor (but he isn't old and mad with wild white hair and a beard or anything (but mum says he's probably slightly insane to be working here with her)) and they want me on film to help teach the Clinical Animal Behaviour Masters students. The Professor chap goes abroad loads to teach and present at conferences etc so my footage may well be used overseas as well - wowee!!!
I will try and get Mum to post some pics of me performing my important duties but she is SO rubbish about remembering simple things like a camera - she was muttering about batteries, whatever they are, last time I reminded her.
Must go now as have to book an appointment at the Grooming Salon (purely for film purposes you know), need to sort my fee with Mum (maybe I need a professional agent) before I sign my contract . . . and then need to rest to conserve my energy for my on screen performances.
Catch you later
Anna
PS my PA may have to post the next update if I am busy filming . . .
