Non domestic Goddess

I go to a friend house and a big sign outside says

This house is for the comfort of myself and My dogs
If you dont like dogs
What are you doing here?

Well today I felt inspired to write a poem not done one for a while :1956:

Non domestic Goddess

I live in a glorified kennel …I think it is quite safe to say
As once in a while I may vacuum and polish
It doesn’t get done every day.

There are footprints all over the carpet
None of the dogs wipe their feet
And if you’re not quick when you answer the door
The dogs will be lay claim to your seat.

The walls well, let’s not even go there
The Mud is quite evenly spread
It’s actually quite a nice pattern
That is repeated upstairs on the bed.

It’s true I am not very house proud
A disgrace my old Mother would Say
But I know that love really lives here
And the love grows stronger each day

So who needs a clean tidy house
And days with just housework to do
When you look at your dogs with the love on their face
With adoration are looking at you.

That's a great poem, Glenys, and I can so identify with it. Having dogs around is a million times better than having a neat, sparkling home all the time, or any of the time! It's hard, especially in the winter, not to have muddy paw prints, mud splatters (and at the risk of lowering the tone, other male doggy splatters - or is that just Zac!), muddy boots, wet towels and all the rest littered all over. It's messy but well worth it - and that's just with one Lab!

That poem is brilliant! Glenys what a talent you have. It reminded me of being at home with my Mum's dogs. You should put it in a frame in your home.

It was more the "no outfit is complete without dog hairs" theory on life!!

Never a truer word spoken.

i have a little plaque that says " the dogs live here, you are only a visitor." on my kitchen door, that warns them. :1961:
