Our Coco is just the same, she can recognise our car engines and is out of her basket and behind the door before you get up the path... doesn't do it when any other car pulls up!

Taffy is trained to alert me to the doorbell / knocker amonst other things , but he he beats both because he can hear thefront gate opening even though I have greased both the hinges and latch.
Visitors are surprised when I open the door before they have a chance to ring/knock.
He then returns to me demanding his wages i.e. a treat.
