Sam's 3rd Gotcha Day
It's Sam's 3rd Gotcha Day tomorrow
Here are a few photos of him the day we picked him up from MKF and some current ones. For people who don't know Sam, this is his story.
Sam was rescued from a life of misery kept on a 6ft chain in a yard almost 24/7. He was not allowed to join in any games or activities with that family.
He was very overweight at 42 kgs, unfit and couln't even jump into the back of the car unaided. Of greater concern was a chronic skin complaint which had never been treated. Sam chewed his paws over the years and they became badly infected. Our vet said he must have been kept in dirty, wet conditions. Glenys told us he'd had a 'terrible life'.
We collected Sam the following day as Glenys put out a plea for a fosterer. We all bonded with him immediately especially Molly our black lab. They really are a match made in heaven. It was clear from day one that he was a real character. After a couple of weeks we decided we wanted to adopt Sam and make him a permanent member of our family.
After months of antibiotic treatment and wearing a dreaded 'lampshade' his condition stabilised. He is permanently on a pulse dose of antibiotics.
Sam is such a loving boy who wags whenever you enter the room and loves your company.

HAPPY 3RD GOTCHA DAY SAM
I remember Sam's story and meeting him at the Fun Day 3 years ago just after you'd given him his Forever Home. At the time he was still on medication for his poorly paws - and just look at him now - he's an absolute credit to you Alison and so handsome.

Happy 3rd gotcha day Sam
His paws looked so sore but he is obviously a very happy dog now! Let's hear it for all the failed fosterers out there who do such a fantastic job!
Have a very happy day Sam. Love Julie, Dylan, Nina and Jas

Happy 3rd Gotcha day Sam.
What horrible conditions to keep a dog in. It is the first time I've heard Sam's story.
I'm just so glad You found him and vice versa. He does look really happy and cared for in those pics.
