i wonder what Jet was saying in that one
That was Jet's last day. He had already been diagnosed as having multiple organ failure and he was booked in the following day to be P.T.S. So we gave him the best day possible, which included him swimming, which he loved.
I stayed with him whilst he fell asleep for the last time. It broke my heart, and I'm afraid I cracked up in the Vets. He was very good about it as he's an old friend. He even sent me a handwritten card afterwards to reassure me that we had done the best thing for him. He's a lovely man !
I took Billy to see him today and gave Mr Locke ( our vet ) the Rescue Calender which I give him every year. He says he always has it over his desk at home.
He's a big Labrador fan and says '' it's lovely to turn over to another month and see a different Labrador each time'' ! He thinks the Rescue 'people' do a first class job !!!
And Yes !!.... we miss Jet an awful lot, he was a grand old character !
When we first joined this site, we looked at the photos of your oldies, Martin, over and over again. What special people you and your family are to have given them all so much love and care in their final years. It's always lovely to see your wonderful pictures of truly beautiful dogs. Thank you. And your Billy is so handsome!
