Nortie Norrie becomes a puppy again

Another Norrie update hope people are enjoying them

Well after the euphoria of yesterday it would seem Little Norrie boy has turned the corner and has earned a new nick name :-)

The attached picture shows him in a Norrie Nest, I had put his basket out in the porch and piled the latest lot of dog washing in it whilst I ploughed the kitchen floor and then washed it. I need sympathy here, the snow has melted we are back at the height of the mud season and I have 32 muddy paws in and out as well as our feet, I cannot describe the floor and the bedding yesterday but suffice to say it took several buckets of hot water the clean the floor and I am incredibly thankful the washing machine did not get silted up. Any way back to the plot Norrie decided that he was not going to just stand about or find another bed whilst I cleaned and so he somehow managed to burrow under the bedding and settle down, hence the photo.

As for his new name he is fast becoming Nortie Norrie, he has decided he wants to start and play and presumably he has never in his life felt well enough and so he plays like a pup. His first game was to chew the plastic pipe off the blue Henry Hoover, at the time Geoff was sat about 3 feet away from him, men!!! Geoff was more concerned that Norrie had not eaten any. Then it was grab a toy any toy and get someone to play tuggy with him, this I think is great as it should help his muscles, then it was drape himself over my chair arm and just stare at my face from about 2 inches away and everytime I turned to look at him I got a big lick and a grin, then it was steal the sky remote and carry that round, then it was pull the towel down in the kitchen and bring that for me but it could only be given up after a tug. You have to see him do these things as he is just like a tall gangly pup.

Eventually he settled down and went to sleepand peace reigned and then the next bit getting him to go out last thing at night, he has a bed, it is warm, he is fed and comfortable. Outside is cold, it is dark and some silly woman expects him to go out, sorry time to close eyes and ears and pretend to be asleep. I have to come indoors and drag him out and then close the door very quickly as he is in like a shot.

This morning he was so excited when we came down and both he and Grayse had to bring us something, Grayse brought me a bed and so did Norrie unfortunately Bob was still trying to lie down on it so he was dragged across the floor by Nortie Norrie. Time to do the birds and my lot get so excited when my hat goes on, any hat, a warm one in winter or a cap in summer a hat means outdoors time, odd as they ignore leads but hats thats a different story, anyway Norrie is now picking up on this and gets a little excited too, it is lovely to see him try to bounce but in actual fact his feet only leave the floor a fraction of an inch. I put my gloves on and then Nortie Norrie decided that he could just get a hold of the tip of the glove fingers and pull me about and shake me, not that he could shake me he tried and ended up a mass of legs on the floor.
I have said before he has a thing about doors , he is like lightening when he hears one open and trying to sidle out and keep him in is not easy as he can get through a far smaller gap than I can. :-)
