Areas we cover

Post by LabRes1 »

Labrador Rescue is based in Eccleston, Chorley - not far from Jucntion 27 of the M6 Motorway

We are more than willing to rehome a dog anywhere in the country as long as the person/family adopting the dog meet our criteria, and subject to there being no-one else suitable in our area, and as a matter of curtosy we have to put our area applications first,as do other labrador rescues. Obviously, vast distance may make our normal procedures more difficult to carry out but this does not exclude you.

The main concern is the distance travelled. If you were to come all the way from Essex, or the north of Scotland for example, it would probably require the expense of an overnght stay and if you came to see a dog and it didnt work - it's a long way and lot of expense to go home with nothing - having said that, when people are travelling such a distance we do try to arrange this when we have several dogs in that may be suitable to reduce the chance of that happening.

The other problem of course is that you would sign a document to agree that if your circumstances changed, or the dog didn't settle with you for example, it must be returned to us - more expense and time to be considered.

If you are still wanting to adopt from us, these are things we need to point out and work with you on.

We are also able to provide you with details of more local, reputable Labrador rescues should this option be better for you.
