Had a lovely break last May at The Trap Inn http://www.trapinn.co.uk/newtrap/.

This is a dog friendly Inn with 5 rooms in the small village of Broomhill just north of Morepeth.

This isn't a swanky place. The rooms are a little dated but clean and comfortable but oh so dog friendly!
Skye was made really welcome as soon as we arrived with doggy treats from the jar on the bar.

Meals are taken in the bar where dogs can sit with their people and Skye was presented with a sausage with each meal much to his delight! :1951:

Just across the quiet road outside is a large grassy playing field for leg stretches and 5 mins down the road in the car is Druridge Bay Country Park with miles of walks, picnic spots, freshwater lakes and a path over the dunes to the beach where dogs are allowed all year round.

We had a lovely few days exploring the coast and castles in the area and hope for a return visit soon.

Oh - I forgot to mention - there was NO extra charge for dogs!

Sounds lovely, glad you had a good break the two of you. A sausage with each meal must have been a dream come true for Skye!

It sounds lovely. My late sister-in-law used to live in Northumberland. It's a beautiful part of our country.

Sounds an ideal break Paul. We visited Northumberland about 2 years ago with George, staying in Amble and it's the most dog friendly place we've ever visited. Everywhere we went from the superb beaches to the pubs, hotels and restaurants and even the shops dogs were welcome. It was unusually hot when we were there and retail shops went out of their way to not only allow George in with us but also fetched him clean cold water while we shopped. In one more up market hotel at lunch time the waitress asked if our dog liked sausages  (what a question  ) she then went back inside and brought out 3 of the speciality sausages from their menu, they were certainly not a cheap option - they all disappeared inside George without touching the sides

We can't believe we've not visited before, thoroughly recommend Northumberland to anyone with or without a dog :1972:
