If you are planning a holiday in the Lake District check out this site before you come :-

Peter and his Wife Chris have a fabulous pet shop in Keswick that is well worth a visit. Gem loves going there (and they love it when we go too as it usually involves cash changing hands!). They are extremely dog friendly and also able to offer advice on the local area. On the website they have a section which has details of local places to stay, to eat and to explore - all dog friendly! They also include details of local vets - but we hope you never need those numbers.
They stock a huge range of dog food (arden grange, JWB, Burns and Chappie, Pedigree, bakers etc etc) so you dont need worry about taking dog food up there. Contact them before you travel and they will have your food ready for you - but be warned they have sucha wide range of doggy toys (soft toys, chews, kongs etc) and leads/ collars/ harnesses, bowls, rucksacks, jackets and walking boots (????) you are bound to treat your best friend whilst in there. I keep saying we need to get "Sponsors of Podgy paws" sign written on the side of our car as we dont go anywhere else for Gems stuff and she has one or two toys!

How does she keep all her toys so nice? If my three had a toy box like that - everything would be destroyed !! They have one outside with a lid on in that Dad made for them and when they want to play, they go and stand by it but soft toys with stuffing are definitely out of the question!!!!! Julie
