We adopted Charlie!!!!!(from the pair Bobby and Charlie)

Post by Newone »

We adopted Charlie last Saturday and I am so happy that we did! The most interesting is that the dogs and I came to MKF to see an absolutely different dog, but it didn't work and Glenys kindly advised to meet Charlie. As soon as we saw him we fell in love with him.
What a wonderful fellow Charlie is! He is getting on really well with Mitzi and Holly and with all dogs we meet. Everybody who has met him during last week, fell in love with him straight away!So far we had no issuies with him whatsoever! I let him off lead without any doubt next morning after I brought him home (his recall is fantastic!) and since that we all feel as he has been with us all the time. My husband took him to the vets for check-up today and almost everything was perfect from the vet point of view.
Holly( our labrador) and I go to the swimming pool once per week so we are taking CHarlie tomorrow with us and hoping he will like it - will post pics from the pool when we get back.

Huge, massive thanks to Glenys, Gina and Glenys' husband(sorry I don't know his name) for letting us have such an amazing dog!

Wonderful news! Lucky Charlie! Your labs have such similar colouring too (very blond with golden ears :love2: ) I am thrilled to hear that Charlie has settled without a hitch and am sure he'll really enjoy the pool tomorrow. Can't wait to see the pics

PS I think Emma may be onto something with the dating idea.. :1966:

HI everybody,
I have not been in touch for a while but everything is going well.Unfortunately, I forgot to take the camera when I took dogs for a swim so will make sure I take it next time.Charlie loved it!!!I mean - the swimming, not me forgetting to take the camera! :1966: Charlie and Holly are very good together and both are a bit scared of oldie mini-schauzer esp when she is not in mood!!! It's really funny to watch as a tiny old doggy can manage 2 big labs without any problem! :1967:
Charlie is so good!He is getting more into our routine. Holly and him bond more and more every single day.
The only issue we have is his back leg- at first our vet thought that Charlie strained it but 2 weeks on Rhemoucam did not help and now we have to wait another 3-4 weeks, if no improvements than he will need to go for x-ray. It could be something with ligament or Achille tendon or....etc .He is ok most of the time, just tries not to put his weight on one of his back legs, no limpm or anything like that.He walks absolutely fine, when he is on fields he runs and jumps like mad but if he jumps uncomfortably he squills and lifts his leg :blue: |We will sort it out as soon as we know what the problem is!
if anybody of you had any similar problem with their dogs please let me know what the problem was and what treatment your dog had. Apart of it everything is going absolutely brilliant and we still can't believe that we got so brillian, obidient, well behaved dog!
I thought you would like to see some pictures :) so here they are!
All 3 of them:
