The Loss of our Beautiful girl MEG today at 5.08

Post by megrescue »

we adopted our beautiful girl Meg 4 and a half years ago she had been very badly bitten when her previous owner had to let her go and 3 other dogs at her temporary home attacked her. We saw on the website that meg needed a foster carer but as soon as we came to see her we knew we would want to adopt her and love her. We have had the most wonderful time holidays and lots of adventures together we loved her as much as she loved us she has been our constant companion and her loyalty showed no bounds. When Meg became ill we took her to the vet to see what was wrong as her legs had given way 2 weeks ago just the once and then again 2 days later, the vet said it was arthritus in her hips and gave her anti inflameteries but we felt there was something more unfortunately on wednesday we asked for xrays etc and the outcome was devastating she had several tumours throughout her body and we knew we had to let her go as several of the tumours were secondaries. We took her out yesterday to her favourite places for a quiet but fun time even though our hearts were breaking Meg enjoyed her day. We made the appointment for the vet to come to the house today and she went to sleep in my arms, we are bereft without our beautiful girl but to see her suffer a minute longer than necessary was not an option,as poorly as she was today she still wanted to come everywhere with me in the house as normal and was sad that she could not make it up the stairs. We consider ourselves so very blessed to have had Meg in our lives and just wanted to say a huge thankyou . Thankyou for letting me share my thoughts :cry3:

So very very sorry to read of your losing Meg. I can imagine how you feel having gone through similar. How lovely that you took her to her favorite place, I don't think you could have done better by her. All the Meg spaces will gradually become fond Meg memories of the love and fun you gave each other.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful girl. We've been there too and had to make that awful decision following shocking x-ray results so really feel for you.

you have done the right thing by preventing her from suffering, and you gave her a wonderful life with holidays and nice things where she was loved and cherished.

Thinking of you, run free Meg free of those nasty horrid tumours x

I'm so so sorry you have lost your beloved girl, it's heartbreaking.

Take comfort that you did everything possible for your darling Meg and were able to spend a wonderful final day with her. Letting her go and freeing her from pain is the most selfless, loving thing you could have done. Thank you.

You will treasure the four and a half years of precious memories with your dear Meg forever :love3:

I am so sorry to read about Meg's passing. To end our animal companions suffering when they are terminally ill is the last act of kindness we can do for them, even though it is heart breaking at the time.

You have wonderful memories of the full & happy life Meg enjoyed with you for her last 4+ years.

Run free brave Meg....young again. :love2:
