Merlin

Post by JohnB »

This is our update on Merlin our wonderful Lab cross who came to live with us a few weeks ago from Labrador Rescue.

Merlin had very big shoes to fill following the loss of our very special black Lab Rogue. We know from experience that no two Labs are ever the same and so while Rogue remains very special in our memories, Merlin is now making his own exceptional mark on our lives.

We think he is settling in very well and from the start he has been such fun to have around. Merlin has discovered a number of things that he likes about his new home. He likes the Aga in the kitchen because he can warm his bottom by leaning on it and by being there is usually in the vicinity of any food that is being prepared and he does like his food! No doubt while not a pure Labrador he has got the Lab fondness for eating. He likes the sofa and the garden and is getting used to walks on Beacon Fell where he can meet friends.

He had his first visit to the vet (just for a check over and to say hello) and was judged to be "very well socialised" by his new vet. Full marks to Lab Rescue!

He is working hard on his walking on the lead and although he gets rather tense in the car is beginning to realise that going by car usually means a visit to somewhere nice. Even the cat is getting a little more friendly. Merlin could win anyone over.

All in all both Merlin and his new family are very happy to be together and we are all very grateful to everyone at Labrador Rescue for bringing us together.

Thanks to all

John Christine & Merlin

Hello and welcome :love3:
What a super first post and update. Sadly I was unable to see your attached image; you may need to have another go at posting that..
However I did go back to the rehoming pages to have a gander at Merlin.. I'm so glad I did, he is absolutely scrumptious - such a little cutie. He looks like a full black lab but with a few well-placed white markings (enhancements :1968: ) especially his little white toes.. :love2:
Rogue (great name) was obviously very special and you will always have your special memories of him to treasure. He'll never be far away.
I'm sure you will continue to enjoy Merlin (another great name!) and you will go on to share another joyous chapter with this special boy too.
Please keep in touch, I'd love to see images of Merlin as he matures. He is such a handsome (and lucky) boy :1939: :1939:
