Here's Monty

Post by christineredfearn1 »

Monty and I have been quite busy travelling and training. The Ian Dunbar fun and games 3 days was fabulous and he did very well, although he did learn to bark very loudly and persistantly. The Guide Dog centre in Manchester is a great place and we loved every minute.

Being a member of the APDT I decided to go on their activity weekend and attend the AGM this year in Worcestershire. This proved to be the making of a good sniffer dog. We tried our hand at working trials and he loved it, especially when it came to the jump elements-no problem. On Sunday we tried Search and Rescue and again his nose did him proud. He did however venture off the beaten track once on his ownto investigate something else, but on the whole he was great and I was so proud of him.

However the photo with the rosette was taken after a flyball event at which Monty's team came 3rd.
The other photo is Monty enjoying a 'treat tree' with friends.

More travelling and training events are planned for later in the year, will keep you informed of his progress.

We have just adopted Rolo, 9 month old Choc lab, but your pictures of Monty are so like our Barney who we adopted at 3 and lost him 3 weeks ago age 12 years 8 months to anal cancer. Barney's name was Monty when we got him. Beautiful dog.
