Drake's first gotcha day

Drake came into our life at 90mph a year ago today. We had gone to MKF to meet another Labrador and Glenys suggested we might like to meet Drake too. She was spot on and it was love at first sight. I think he'd decided we weren't leaving without him as he towed us round to the car and eagerly jumped into the boot - only to be found sitting on the passenger seat by the time we opened the door so Plan B for the journey with his new mum sitting in the back with him. Since then we've moved on a lot and he now walks beautifully on the lead (except when he's somewhere new and VERY exciting when he pulls like a steam train - but we're getting there and he travels very calmly in the car.
He's the softest, most lovable and loving Labrador ever - he likes cuddles and tummy tickles, playing ball and exploring the delights of Rivington every day. He loves people and always has good manners when he meets them and he's definitely "best pals" with our grandchildren.
He's been on a cottage holiday in the lakes and stayed a couple of nights in a hotel with us and took it all in his stride. He's completed two training courses which were great fun for him and us and he's starting his good citizen training in a couple of weeks.
Thanks go to Glenys for her matching skills and for letting us bring Drake into our home. He's got his paws right under the table and firmly fixed in our hearts. He brings sunshine into every day and creates smiles all round.
