Simba my Blog

Post by Glenys »

Dear Diary

Arrived at my new home yesterday and it seems very nice. My New Master showed me some areas which I believe are called the kitchen, dining room and something called the utility room which I now know is my bedroom. New Master made me do various thing like sit down and stay which I got right most times.

Shortly after we arrived New Master took me for a short walk into some lovely countryside which he tells me is called the Ribble Valley. It looked very nice, full of new smells and we met four local canines who expressed a great interest in me but were all vey kind. I made a bit of a mess of a wicket gate and I’ll need to get this better next time. We came back indoors and I found a rather nice rug NM (I’ll call him that now) had put down. Without him telling me I decided this was for me and went to lie down without further ado. Soon after I was fast asleep. I was so happy I suggested to NM that I would be quite happy if he was to pop out for a short while if he wanted. He put me in my bedroom and before you know it he was back again.

NM then gave me some tea. Oh joy was that good – I was v. hungry. We spent the rest of the evening watching TV – well NM did I just chilled out I was so happy (see attached).

I had a good night’s sleep in my new box and greeted NM with enthusiasm this morning. He let me have a roam around in the garden and I had a massive pee. Came back in and had a dump in the kitchen. I think I got that bit wrong ‘cos NM put me outside for a couple of minutes. NM then got wellied up and off we went again for another walk. This was a bit longer and took in an area he calls The Hazels and the cricket club. He introduced me to Nigel and Paula. They smelt a bit doggy so had to do just a little growl until they patted me and made a fuss. A whippet made a bit a fuss of me on the cricket ground until his master got a grip of him and gave me a piece a ham. We got back and we both spent a good while in the garage which really is quite an interesting place. NM gave me a bit of a brushing which was all a bit strange but worth the biscuits afterwards.

NM has told me there are other family members to meet yet and I am really looking forward to that. I am going to cuddle up the lady I am told is called Wendy so much on Sunday night she won’t be able to leave me alone. I understand it maybe a little while before I see Young New Master but I send him my best woofs.

Must go now because another snooze calls

Woof woof.

PS NM tells me that I have an appointment next Friday with the vet. If Glenys gas any further details from my previous vet NM would be pleased to receive this.

Aw, I could cry with happiness with this update. An unsocialised dog, without a collar to his name, to be replaced by a cat (of all things) deserves the very best and happiest of homes. I do hope we can expect many more blogs to brighten up wet and dreary days (currently throwing it down in Lancashire)!
Be happy Simba. I suspect you already are :1972:

Oh Simba I have tears running down my face reading your news. :love5: What a fantastic day you had yesterday and I'm sure today was even better.

I think the best thing to do regarding his old vet is to contact his breeder from his pedigree because his previous owner couldn't remember which vet he'd visited previously.

Be happy sweetheart, you deserve the very best of things in life from now on. Learn to be a puppy again with your wonderful new family. :1972:

Way to go Simba!
I think you are a smart cookie, sounds like you have already been helpful in the garage and it's a good plan you have to to snuggle up to Wendy :1968:
Yep, paws under the table I think!
