THE GOOD SHIP LABRADOR

Post by casper »

Sailing with First Officer Mum and Captain Dad today will be, Princess Molly and Sir Jake. Our journey will take approximately one and a half hours stopping at “Pong way”, “Webb walk” “ Coot bay” “Sloe lane” “swan lake” and “meadow marsh” refreshments served at the captains discretion. Please observe the safety rules “ No Teeth showing, growling or biting (this includes Mum), pulling on the safety harness is forbidden and return to the ship when the whistle is blown is a must. We will be travelling at a speed to make mum pant (lol), so if you’re all ready then we will be off!
Pong way was uneventful, plenty of long grass and overhanging bushes for a one’s undisturbed ablutions. So on now past Bridge End onto “Webb Walk” where the safety harness comes off and time to take in that fresh air and evocative scents. You’ll find some very interesting blades of grass, bushes and clumps. One or two of the natives join in with a flight from cover display, (The famous “Pheasant Fright” display team).
As we approach the end of Webb Walk please be advised that the wooden footbridge offers little grip and of course Princess Molly and Sir Jake will obviously take the far safer and hundred times more fun route, around the bridge through the glorious sticky brown mud !! Not to worry, bathing facilities at the next stop, “Coot Bay” but for now it’s back on with the safety harnesses. Not long before The Good Ship Labrador is pushing past the enormous Common Reeds, heavy with the previous nights rain water (no change there LOL) suddenly we go on high alert, just ahead stood right in the middle of our path was the a very provocative the devilish highwayman “ZACH” head held low, his white fair ring heavily contrasted against the rest of his body’s curly black fur hmmmm Zach thinks “a new mug, friend I mean could have a chance to have a peace of this one”, Zach turns to check how far away his dad is and yessss there is just enough time to try the wagging tale sucker punch routine. Zach knows Princess Molly and would not dare interfere, just the Captain to watch out for, but he’s in communication with dad, so it’s now or never. Zach approaches Sir Jake, They casually sniff each others faces in the time horned traditional greeting front end tells Zach that Sir Jake is Long in the tooth, now for the back. As Zach pulls along side he makes a sudden jump for Sir Jake’s back, but with the speed and agility of a dog half his age Sir Jake grabs a mouth full of fur over Zach’s shoulders throwing him to the ground in a very un Highwayman way. The captain quickly moves in to quell any further fractious moves and Zach’s dad throws the steal lasso over Zach’s neck and tow’s him away. Zach looks back as if to say “Another time Sir Jake”.

Interlude ( hahahahahahaha) hope your not bored I’ll continue with the second half soon. Phil
