more on Georgie

Post by madjack »

Hi folks,
Georgie's been with us 10 days now and definitely has her feet firmly under the table! She is no longer the goody 2 shoes she appeared to be which is a relief. I expect mischief as it adds to the fun! You've got to put your socks on quick or one goes missing! The settee is starting to seem like a new bed to her, and so it goes on! But we love her immensely and she does behave well when out. Her recall is excellent for such a baby. She is learning about water, though not quite sure yet. Does anyone else have a lab that jumps over puddles to avoid walking thro it!!!!
Anyway, here's a pic of her on her walk this morning.

What a gorgous girl she is and sounds a delight. Molly (was 5 1/2 months when we got her) used to jump over puddles and hated water, with encouragement from Katie she would paddle her feet in but no more so to overcome her avoidence of water we took her to hydrotherapy (3 sessions). What a difference now, can`t keep her away from water now she is a proper water baby :bounce: .
Would love to see more pics.

our bailey loved puddles but always looked wary of large amounts of water till we took him to the beach [1hr away] as soon as he saw the sea he was in like a kid, swimming like a duck, he loved it! now we cant get him out of the stuff. soon be water babe.

Georgie looks delightful, im sure the water thing will come in time, my problem is keeping Bailey out of the water, and has been since he was a baby. He has never stepped over puddles just jumped straight in and rolled over.

Jan what a fantastic idea with the water tank, perhaps you could get your hubby to post the instructions on how to build (Blue Peter style!!!). Bailey would absolutely love that and probably some of the other dogs on here especially if we get a summer (fingers crossed on that one!!).

Previous to having Balee I had a cross Alsation Collie, he would not walk through puddles or mud always walked round them. When we got home he was a clean as when he went out. - NOW BALEE that is a different story. Will say he has got used to the hose pipe whatever the temp. :1968: :1968:

Things have moved on re the water issue. Georgie STILL avoids puddles like the plague but happily goes in river (not swimming but in up to shoulders). Her other HUGE passion in snuffling in very wet mud! She looks like a pig truffling and ends up with a very black face! Maybe we could be on to something......
