George

Post by Lablicious »

Well, after vowing never to get another dog after my hearbreaking loss of Bailey 2.5 years ago, I logged on here for a little peep and fell in love with little George the American Cocker Spaniel.

Glenys very kindly had him professionally groomed for my visit, and what a bobby dazzler he is!

His firdt night and he's settling in really well. He's had some sardines for tea to help his slightly itchy dry skin, explored the the house and garden, and weve just had a lovely bonding session on the rug, and he gave me my first kiss :1971:

He's so well behaved, an absolute cutie! I couldn't have wished for a better dog. I'm sure well have many very happy years together.

Thank you for allowing me to love him :love6:

Oh wow congratulations on letting George adopt you :love5: I must admit I was rather taken with him when I saw his photo - he's gorgeous :love2:

It's lovely that you've found the room in your heart to love another after the heartbreak of losing Bailey. I'm sure he would approve and I can't wait to see photos of your new boy :1972:

I'm so pleased to read this, George is such a little cutie. Many congratulations :1972:

It is always exciting when the occasional different breed pops up at Rescue. I've asked Glenys to call me first if a mini-dachshund ever knocks at her door :1968: :1968:

Please can you post photos of gorgeous George.. the honorary Labrador :1966:

It's been a long time since I started my day with laughter and cuddles :1968: :love6:

An uneventful first night... George slept soundly in his new plush bed in the kitchen... no wimpering or barking. Was lovely coming down to his happy greeting this morning. He even rolled over and allowed me to tickle his tummy.

He seems quite itchy, not sure if it's after being groomed or fleas, probably the grooming as his skin does seem a little dry. Good job he loves sardines!

Will be taking him out for his first walk after breakfast, but will have to keep him on the lead until he learns to come. I think it's probably willful playness, although he is nervously timid, but he won't let you catch him and flatly refuses to come in from the garden. But I'm learning that if I ignore him and close the door he eventually cries to be let in. Just need to gain his confidence before allowing him off the lead to play. xx
