Maceys holiday on the Isle Of Man

Post by Dwaine Dibbley »

We got Macey (used to be Lacey) nearly a year ago, she has been away with us a few times in the touring caravan, and she is really well behaved.

We had booked a 4 week holiday in the Isle of Man to coincide with the Manx Grand Prix bike racing fortnight. We usually only go for 2 weeks but extended it this year as I am recuperating from surgery due to prostate cancer.

We weren't sure how Macey would behave on the crossing from Heysham, so we booked a cabin in which you can take your dog, it costs £49 extra each way but we thought it was worth every penny. The cabins are just the same as normal ones (beds/showers/tele/wifi) but they have Lino flooring incase of accidents, Not me, the dog! They even have dog bowls.

Macey behaved impeccably for the duration of the 3.5hr crossing.

We stayed in our normal accomodation near Kirkmichael, we all had a great time, Macey thought it was brilliant with the beach being only a couple of minutes away for her regular walks, she loved trying to "bite" the breaking waves as they tumbled in, though she was going mad with the smells of a dead seal that had been washed up one day, we had to put her back on her lead to keep her from it, probably would have ended up rolling on it!

Here's some pics.

Gorgeous photos of the beautiful Macey :love6:
Thanks for not including one of the aforementioned seal.. :2008:
I especially enjoyed the last one with Macey peering over the wall; my nosy parker of a Lab does this too! Thanks for sharing and I do hope you will continue to recover well :1972:

Stunning photos of a beautiful girl :love5:

George likes to peer over walls but because he's so tall we have to be careful as he often thinks we want him to jump over it :2008: even when there's a big drop on the other side. Symmonds Yat Rock comes to mind :2008: :2008: we suddenly realised he was about to launch himself over the wall as we stood looking for Peregrine Falcons - he wanted to see too and it was a long, long way down

Lovely photos - looked like you had a great time

My friend lives on the Isle of Man and there have been times when she would have given her eye teeth (?) to have a cabin with lino on the floor - and she didn't have her dog with her on those occasions!! :1967: :1967:

Fantastic pics - thanks for sharing! Macey looks beautiful, and very fit. Looks like a great holiday. I've never been to the Isle of Man - maybe I'll give it a go.
