Re: The Story of Sam
Glenys,
I will not regret for one minute taking him home with me, he is well worth the long journey to get him, thank you for allowing us to have him,
I specifically wanted an old dog or one that needed extra special love and care, one that John and I could give a home to in his twilight years.
I won't go into too many details about my beloved Mick, because I get too upset, but suffice it to say, that about a year or so before we lost him, he couldn't really get around too much, nor that quickly, so we bought him some incontinence bed blankets that old people have and put those on top of his quilt, so that if he did piddle, it soaked into this thick sheeting and wouldn't leave him wet, if it happened during the night and we didn't know, they were expensive, but well worth it.
If he needed to go to the loo and he knew that he wouldn't be able to get up and make it in time, he would tap his tail on the floor to tell us and we'd just quickly get a bag and that was it, no mess, he truly was a dog sent to me from Heaven.
That's why I said that no problem was insurmountable.
Aileen, I'm sorry, I forgot to use my real name, it's Jill, I'm so used to being called "Radar" (lol) !
Radar Ears is a nickname I was given years ago because I can have a conversation with someone and still listen to whatever is going on around me and repeat it all word for word!
It's only general chit-chat though, I would never dream of repeating anything I heard that was private!

Sam is going to be a savener - he has a long journey to essex ahead of him..
After numerous emails and chats he is going to doggy heaven - the best home any labrador needing some tlc could ever wish for.

As Ian has said, he's going South, to Southend on Sea, or as we say dahn 'ere - Sarfend on Sea !
A big thank you to Ian for all his help, John and I really appreciate it.
I must have driven the poor man mad with my e-mails (lol)
Thank you also to everyone for their kind wishes for Sam's future, rest assured, he'll be well fussed over, as I said previously, I was going to keep quiet about it until I'd got him, but I felt a bit mean not saying, so I decided to spill the beans!

Re: The Story of Sam
Funny question Kathryn, but does he prefer to sit up or stretch out, because I have an estate car and I was going to put the back seats down and put a nice big quilt in the back so he could go to sleep on the way home if he wanted.
