Remember Baxter?

Post by carolb »

Remember Baxter who was found wandering. At first it would appear he had been dumped due to a leg problem as he limped when he arrived at the rescue. After being checked out at our vets it was decided that Baxter would be better off in a foster home until we knew if he had any long term problems with his leg. So off he went to stay in the Cheshire countryside with Digger and his humans. Here he is on his own

And with Digger

Then we had some good news-The fosterers failed!! :2026:  :bounce: They are keeping him.
And the latest update is that his leg seems to be fine. He has just come back from holiday with all the family and behaved really well.
Apparently he even warms Diggers bed up for him then lets him have it and gets in the other one. :1961:

Failed fosterers are the best!!! They look so happy together. Perhaps Baxter would like to warm my bed for me as OH refuses to move from his warm half on to my cold side (because I take the dogs out before bed and he sneaks off to bed!!!).

Lovely photos.

Great story and pictures. Never fostered but, if I did, I know I would join the realms of "failed". :1956:

I do love a good failed fosterer story! I'm so pleased Baxter has settled so well you can't do without him.

What a smasher how could you resist that face. :love5: Love the photo of the two labs together and what a clever boy Baxter is to warm up his big brothers bed for him - Baxter knows how to make sure he's got his forever home now. Hope you all have lots of fun together.
