Its heart warming to see threads like these that through this wonderful site she found a home and we see the results.
Yes, Glenys. And thanks to you, Kathryn,Carolyn and all your helpers-Sam and Sam 2, and other volunteers and fosterers, there are a lot of grateful dogs and new owners.

Kizzy is still practising her swimming,

Image

although here she's a little unsure of the depth of the canal, but she really wanted this stick......

Image

She went back to visit some old friends and this time jumped up on the wall for a better look (but really to check if there were any leftover scraps that we'd fed them!!!)

Image

She met some cows for the first time- don't think she was particularly taken with them!!!

Image

She's still my little star..... :1945:

Wow Sue isn't she doing well :1954: , she's like a fish in that water, Millie almost drowns herself there's so much splashing. Millie refuses to jump in a canal I think she prefers to wade in then at least she knows how to get out. I've got a couple of videos and loads of pictures to put on here; I will make time if it kills me. She's gorgeous! :love2:

She is absolutely gorgeous. :love2: Love the videos. She really wanted to get that stick in the canal just didn't know whether to go for it or not! :dontknow: Funny with the pigs and the cows, she really took a wide berth at the end, she must have thought they really are bigger than me!! :1966:

Kizzy has been practising fetch and bring.........

Image

She just gets a little excited...... :1970: , but we're getting there!!

Also, she's really into rolling. As soon as we get on the field in the morning she rolls onto her back and wriggles around. Same when she's been swimming- I suppose it helps get the excess water from her fur. It really is funny, she's covered in muck, soil or leaf litter.

Went to Lyme Park today to look at the deer.......
She spotted a lone deer off to the left and thought......if only I wasn't on the lead......

Image

That's Lyme Cage in the background. I believe it was a folly built to house people when they were out on a 'shoot'. The little brown dots to the right of the Cage are deer.

Image

Went to Edale last week. It was rather cold but didn't stop her going in the river

Image

Searching for treasure....

Image

But it's so cold....

Image

This what Kizzy thinks about being filmed

Image

Last but not least, isn't she a beautiful girl!!!!.......

Sara....I'm trying to catch up with you :1967: :1968:

Photobucket is dead easy once you've got the hang of it- and then it's hard to stop posting pics and videos!! At the same time, Dave is showing me how to cut and edit videos and also convert them from ??? to avi. Next thing will be a full-blown film.... :1962:

Emma and Linda
We'll have to arrange to meet up in Lyme Park in the near future, maybe before we go on holiday to Wales on 15 May. Most days and times would suit me. Linda did suggest we meet up not long after I got Kizzy and I'm afraid I've been rather lax in arranging things.

Off to Derwentwater in Derbys today. I don't know where we're going. Dave sets the co-ordinates on his sat-nav and I follow the instructions(I'm the driver).
Aren't these lovely signposts!! All along the reservoir.

Image

Image

Of course she had to swim!!

Image

She's only really seen sheep from a distance before. As we got out of the car, there was a mum with 2 lambs and she set off down the hill, with me on the other end of the lead. It was very scary. I thought she was going to pull me over. Dave, of course, thought it was very funny :1967: :1968: . Me, no. :2019: . I suppose watching it, it was funny, but it didn't do my leg much good.

I was so surprised at how unconcerned the sheep and lambs were with us. Two lambs were sunning themselves on the track and then walked right past us (Kizzy on a short lead!!!). Mum then came in search of them and did the same. Within a yard of us.

On the way back....hide and seek...

Image

Peepo!!

Image

A step too far....

Image

And then there was mum.......who stamped her foot at Kizzy....

Image

A lovely day out. We called in at Glossop on the way back and I treated her to a knuckle bone, even though she'd nearly lamed me and made me use ripe language when she'd nearly pulled me over....... the joys of dog ownership :1968: :1968:

I was just thinking....in retirement, I could be sitting with my feet up, doing absolutely nothing...... :1970:
