Hi Ann and Millie ,

Hope you are both okay following the attack this morning.Luckily this has not happened to me,but I've started carrying a second lead in my pocket just in case there is a loose dog about.

You will need to have a stiff drink later to calm the nerves -only medicinal mind.

What an awful experience for you - I hope you and Millie are OK. It can be so frightening and shakes your confidence a bit. I had a similar experience with my old boy Dylan. That dog also did not have a collar on and there was no owner in sight. Fortunately I was not far from home and got back ok even though I was shaken up bit all. It makes me so cross that people don't have a collar on their dog when they are out, or at least make sure that the dog can't get out of the garden/yard and then run riot.

Sorry to hear about Millie being attacked, this is terrible. It didn`t happen in the woods did it? We will have to meet up next week and she can have a good run with mine and Sue`s dogs (all friendly) to boost both of your confidence. Give me a ring to arrange if you like. Also the use of a whistle would help her recall (and save your voice) I can pick you one up from the shop at the rescue if you like.

Thanks for that Carol and Abi for your comments I really appreciate it, it would be great to finally meet yours and Sue's dogs. I will phone you next week. I have a whistle I think, haven't used it yet though. No wonder the owner said to me 'he isn't really a naughty dog' I didn't know they could be reported.

Perhaps i'll have to make some liver cake . She's been out again today with OH to the park and came back twice, but refused to come back again. He had to run with her so she could smell the treat and he caught her. Going to have to work on this.... sure we'll get there in the end

Hope the pictures work out i'm a bit of a novice here. She's doing really well quite well behaved although she does get very excited and gets a bit rough; and tends to pull on your clothes a lot, so we will have to work on that. She had her 2nd lot of injections yesterday and while I was at the vets we plonked her on the scales. She's 23.5kgs

She had a great time with Carol and Sue's dogs last week just loves to play and get filthy as you can see! She was born the wrong colour I think!

Great photos. Millie looks as if she is having a great time. So nice you were to meet up with some of the others and their dogs. I have only had Fudge out on her own so far (she gets her stitches out tomorrow) but she is very friendly with other dogs and I can tell she is dying to run and play. Hopefully, I am meeting some friends who also have dogs at a place where I can start and train her to recall. She does it great in the house and in the garden but I have not tried her yet outside. I think she will be easily distracted. Might try Abi's liver cake methods - found the recipe on the internet.

Millie looks like great fun and loves getting mucky - like most labs!! I'm getting used to all the dirty towels and kitchen floors again after a couple of months without - to be honest I think I must be mad but I even missed that!!

Keep the pics coming she's lovely - I must take some more of Fudge and post soon.

Loved the pictures and update on Millie ,looks as if she is having a great time.

Hi Lorna

Good luck at the vets tomorrow. Hope Fudge is ok after being spayed. Millie has got that to go through yet. I will feel a wicked Mum when it's her turn. Millie is easily distracted when i'm trying to get her to come back, will maybe have to try livercake - sounds revolting to me know doubt the dogs like it though. She's great fun, just off out to the canal for a walk, she'll no doubt head straight for the water! Will try and get some more pics today.

Great pics Ann. I have a question though-just how many beds does this dog have?????? And I thought I was bad. We must meet up again sometime soon.
