Monty in June enjoying life

Monty is settling down well and knows where his bread is buttered (so to speak) if he sees my husband Barry with a plate or biscuit - guess where Monty is.
His gundog training was going well until last week when he decided that four new dogs and a field full of cows were to be kept an eye on. But hey, its early days yet.
He went for his boosters last week and the vet thought he was lovely, he behaved impeccably.
Unfortunately he has had a mild bout of Kennel cough this week, and training has had to be suspended. He is, I think, now enjoying puppyhood, he runs round the garden like a mad dog, and down the hall, through the lounge and back again. This is hiarious.
He went to visit his friend Winston, pictures attached, and I found this lovely poem I wanted to share as it says it all about a rescue dog. I have to admit I have shed a few tears reading it. But my answer to this poem is YES Monty is here to stay.
Hope you enjoy the pictures

Oh that is so lovely, I have tears in my eyes. I think the Poem says it all for the majority of dogs on here.
Thank you for posting it.

I've also just shed a tear Christine reading the poem, I like to think Millie has unpacked all her baggage although she is still afraid of loud banging noises. She'd never make a gundog - but that is the least of my worries. I'm managing to help her gain confidence around bird scarers, there are a lot around in the fields near me, but if they go off 2 or 3 times she's afraid. So that is a work in progress. Hope Monty's kennel cough soon clears up, lovely pictures too

Thanks for sharing the poem, keep up the work regarding bird scarers and loud noises, I know it can be done with a lot of work and patience (Been there)
Monty has not coughed since yesterday (Tuesday morning) so hopefully we are over the worst. Just have to wait for him not to be infectious.

Glad you liked he poem, I agree it says everything for all dogs on the site.
What a good job lab rescue does. I wanted to come to the fun day in July, but Monty may not be free of infection, we will wait and see what the vet says.

A few tears shed here too!
The photos of Monty are lovely, glad to hear he's over the kennel cough.
Coco definitely brought baggage and over two years on we're still unpacking, but she's here to stay and won't be packing her bags again!
