George unwell

Post by JoanG »

What an awful start to the day, my poor gorgeous boy suddenly became very ill this morning. He seemed a bit slow eating his breakfast which made me wonder if he was ok, then I got ready to go out for a walk, got his collar and lead and he wouldn't move off his bed at all. He'd lost interest in everything was just so still that I actually thought he'd gone, it was so upsetting. We called the vets and they got us in immediately but we had to use his soft bed as a stretcher to get him into the car and into the vets. The vet nurse loves George and couldn't believe how he was, she kept coming over to check on him until the vet was free.

George did get up and slowly walk round the consulting room but everything was normal except his arthritic joint looks a bit swollen. He has had painkillers and antibiotics today and some more for tomorrow and we have another appointment first thing Monday. If he deteriorates we have to call the emergency hospital and take him there immediately. He was able to walk up the ramp into the car to come home and went out into the garden for a wee and a long drink of water.

He is now lying on his bed, he's still not moving but he is watching our movements and listening to us which he wasn't doing before.

Please send him positive and healing thoughts I just hope he will be back to his normal self asap, I wish they could tell us what they are feeling.

He's not improving but doesn't seem worse, he's just lying on his bed not moving. I suppose when we feel really ill we just lie in bed and can't be bothered with anything I'm hoping it's the same with George. I shall sleep downstairs with him tonight as I do feel really worried about him but I think he's better here unless he deteriorates.

So sorry to hear of Gorgeous George being suddenly unwell. I know how upset and worried for him you must be. I do hope he has a comfy night and maybe is a bit brighter on Sunday. We are keeping our fingers and paws crossed for him that all is well in the end and that the vet gets to the bottom of the problem.

:love3: for you

:love2: :love2: :love2: for George from each of us.
