Look!! No lead!

I have struggled for a long time to get the hang of Photoshop. Bit by bit I have learnt a little, but I don't have a great deal of time to spend with it to become good at it. My late father was a real whizz with PS. I am sure that some of you will also be trying to master it! Also, I get to grips with something then the next time I try to do it, ! have forgotten how on Earth you did it. That may be an age thing! :D
Well here is the first thing that I have tried to sort out in PS I am quite proud of. :)
I took this photo of Buddie at the beach but as usual I hadn't looked carefully enough to see any bits that may spoil the photo - and yes, there it was - his lead in the way. I could have kicked myself.
So...I spent a couple of hours trying to get rid of the lead - which I managed. But no sooner had I done that that I realised I would need to get rid of the shadow of the lead too!!!! That took even longer, but to prove I have done it I have posted the before and after shots for you!!!
With his lead........

and without his lead...........

The first one was also sharpened a little and the blues made more intense in PS. :D
