Labrador Rescue

Hello everyone,
This is to say a very big thank you to all of you who posted messages of condolence regarding our fabulous dog and best friend Charlie, who died a week last Friday.
Your messages were so wonderful and helped in a major way to coming to terms with life without Charlie.
Glenys's poem was so beautiful and made the grief that more bearable, hearing things from Charlie's perspective.
We went and collected his ashes yesterday, so he is finally home.
Sending the last, and this, message has been a healing experience, to share with you all our love and feeling of specialness that Charlie brought to our lives. There will never be a dog quite as unique as he was, but in a few months, when the pain we feel at the moment grows easier, we will be, hopefully, ready to adopt another lost sole and give either him or her the best home and love that is humanly possible. The house is so quiet and empty now.

Most of us have been through it ourselves Phil and Paul and we know just what you are going through. Thinking of you and I do hope that you are both feeling better very soon.
When the time comes, the lovely people at the Rescue will no doubt find your new furry friend.

Most of us have had a labrador shaped hole in our hearts at some time in our lives so we know exactly how you feel at the moment, it does get easier and after a while you remember the good times that you enjoyed together, charlie will never be replaced he will just move over a bit to let another into your heart.

It's a horrible time, no two ways about it. They're all so special - but Charlie did sound unique.

It's lovely to hear that when you're good and ready, you are thinking of giving another furry friend a fabulous home. We lost our beloved Mollie last October, and we thought we'd never get over it. Blakey came to live with us on 17th December - when we were still a long way off 'getting over' (if you ever do) loosing Mollie. Blakey was in desperate need of a home, as he'd been in the Rescue for weeks..........and we were in desperate need of him.
We think about Mollie every day, and will never forget her. She had the best life anyone could have given her, as did your lovely Charlie. Now Blakey needs, and deserves, what we gave Mollie, and he's getting it in shedloads. At the moment, you probably can't imagine loving another dog like you did Charlie, but you will - I promise!! We couldn't love a dog any more than we love Blakey, and when you're good and ready, all those feelings will come back for you for your new furry friend - and that quietness and horrible emptiness (Yes, know the feeling well) will be filled.

Your poor little Charlie was so brave through everything he faced in his short life and you gave him every possible chance - he stole our hearts here too.
I'm glad you'll look for another friend when you're feeling ready.Your new pal will never replaced Charlie but he or she will help to mend your broken hearts!
