JACK - Companion, Confidante and Comforter.

On the 13th.September twelve months ago our lives were transformed by a five year old Chocolate Labrador named Jack. If I had made a list of all the attributes I was looking for in a lab Jack would have fulfilled all of them and lots more. Even though he wasn't quite the sort of dog I thought I wanted (an old plodder as Glenys described it), I soon realised he was making every walk an adventure and every day he did something to make me laugh; and as for being an old plodder, well I've now lost over a stone keeping up with old Busy Paws.

Meeting Jack for the first time at MKF
Enjoying the sunshine
Busy Paws
Jack auditions for the next remake of "The Hound of the Baskervilles"
Must go now as I'm being reminded with sighs and meaningful looks that it's time to put the kettle on then go for a "plod"
Thanks to everyone who helped bring us together.

Awww! That's great. Jack is a very handsome boy.
And great that you've lost a stone - wow! I take Buds and Benj a walk every day but only seem to put weight on!

He looks a right Jack the Lad. Great photos. I am out every day with Molly and at times get wet through. I don't mind getting wet but, I never seem to shrink.

A testament to what we like to do in rescue so glad we made the match but sadly some dont talke our advice so am so glad you did.
Over the years I hope we have learned that sometimes we need a dog totally the opposite to what we have in our minds eye I call its MKF Magic and gut instinct I think it sets us apart from any other rescue as the home is right for the dog and the dog is right for the home so it makes me so happy to see posts like these to prove that rescue works if only the people allow it to.
Gorgeous photos of a gorgeous boy xxx

What a lovely update... Jack and Dad look very happy together. I love the nickname "Busy Paws" think I might adopt that one for Coco, she's usually called "Gobby" because she barks so much!
Hope you have many years of "plodding" along together!
Gill and Coco xx

Why is it, that whenever a photo is taken of a Lab running towards you. they suddenly turn into a Pit Bull Terrier ! ?
I have loads of photos of my beloved Mick (my beautiful blonde boy that I lost at 15 years old in February) running towards me and in every one of them, he looks like a Pit Bull !

I forgot to mention Jack's love of soft toys, when he came to us he had his "Teddy", a puppy soft toy, since then we've added a hippo, a goose, two mice, an ostrich,a sheep, a rabbit and a hedgehog to his little family, and yes he does tidy them away, he piles them up in his bed and uses them as a pillow !
