Life with Ozzie - the first week!

Ozzie has had a happy first week and has settled in really well.

Our girls (6 & 3) adore him and even the cats have started to accept him, although we are taking things very slowly. Today he tried to share the bed of our biggest alpha male cat and only got a hiss (no scratching, phew!).

Ozzie has a lovely, gentle nature and seems so grateful to have found the loving home he so deserves. He's trying very hard to please and seems to be saying 'am I doing OK?'.

His favourite activities involve chasing the space hopper 'round the garden and sleeping on my feet in front of a roaring fire watching the X-Factor!

He's a super fast learner and has already picked up 'sit', 'stay, 'down' and 'come on Ozzie' (with the help of a treat or two, naturally!). Rather worryingly, he seems to like eating cat poo!

He sleeps all night (10pm-6am) and has only had a few accidents - clever boy.

Today he had his first long walk (20 mins) and is now exhausted but loved exploring the countryside.

We feel so lucky to have found such a loving, good natured pup. It was fate Glenys that day I think, don't you?
How could anyone sell him at only 14 weeks old? Horrifying.

We're looking forward to his final immunisations next week so that he can come along on our family favourite day trips to Bolton Abbey & Grassington and have a splash in the river.

I grew up with a gorgeous rescue yellow lab (Sandy) and I'm delighted that our girls will also have the chance to grow up with a lovely, black boy too.

We'll keep you updated on his progress and will email Glenys/Carol some photos too as I can't figure out how to do it on here (duh).

What a lovely update...can't wait for piccies. I can't do them either, in fact this is all I can do on a computer!

What a wonderful part of the world to bring up a puppy. I worked near Grassingon in my youth..Conistone-with-Kilnsey to be precise. The river ran through our fields. It is truly stunning around there.

We have recently had a pup from rescue (Bella) who had also had two homes beside her birth home....she was only 8 weeks old when we got her. She was sold as a lab but is in fact a cross, don't know what with though.

By the way, welcome to the site. We look forward to lots of pics when you work things out.

So glad that you are enjoying Ozzie and he is obviously enjoying being part of your family. Email us some pics and we will post them on here for you. Would love a pic of him with one of the cats as I know this was a worry for you. Looking forward to further updates. Definately agree that fate played a part that day!

Just a reminder That little Ozzie was bought out of the free ads by Our Volunteer helper and Supporter Terry who realised he could end up in the wrong home or re sold over again as the price kept getting reduced Terry got him to us and a new life.
Thank you Terry for your kindness xx

Yet another great outcome with another lovely photo. It's hard to keep track sometimes. I don't know how the team do it, it's not just matching right owners and dogs, it's must be a nightmare with the admind. Well done again to all the team at MKF. :1945:
