Labrador Rescue

Little Miss Purdey has been with us for 2 months now. 2 months, I can hardly believe it!! In some ways it has flown past and in others it feels like so much longer, as she has slotted so well into our family and lifestyle, it is just like she has always been there. We are loving having the two dogs and Buster adores his little sister, despite the fact that she is on the go constantly and he gets no peace We call her the wriggler and she is a smart cookie and a happy and affectionate girl.

Someone else has fallen in love with her - for the last 3 weekends mum has been staying with us and little Roddy has found his soul mate. Despite being closer in age to Buster, Roddy and Purdey have been the playful youngsters in the household. They have run and played and chased and just had the best time and we have laughed so much at their antics.
That brings me to the almost forgotten Gotcha Day, as 2 years ago last week Roddy came to live in Scotland - Happy Gotcha Day little man. we love you to bits

Thank you again Glenys, Kathryn and all at the Rescue for letting us adopt 2 such wonderful dogs

Now for some photos - I nearly called this post "The reason I prefer black labradors.....", which will become self explanatory.

BRILLIANT UPDATE ON PURDEY AND DEAR LITTLE RODDY

Purdey is indeed a pretty one.

As for mud, glorious mud. I was out with three labs this morning. Molly (mine), Jaz and Gucci. Gucci is an absolute nutter. Not only did he get full of mud from head to tail but, when he rolled to dry himself after swimming, he rolled of a ledge of about 3ft got up, shook himself off, and carried on with Molly and Jaz as if nothing had happened.

What lovely photos, Purdey is beautiful and Buster sooo.. handsome, they make a gorgeous pair of black beauties, plus the equally gorgeous Roddy. Cannot believe it's his second Gotcha Day, he is a little gem. His photos in the mud did make me smile as it brought back memories of the little pony who everyone thought was a big one stuck in the mud, just because it had little legs - I don't think Roddy has any idea he is vertically challenged

Lovely photos, beautiful labs and beautiful part of the country! The yellow labs do look worse for wear when it's muddy though, but I guess you just don't notice it so much on the black and the choccie labs! Don't they always find the muddiest bit to play in....
